For Tehmeena Afzal, timing has been the essential element in her career. Better known as Meena amongst her thousands of fans, the Queens, NY native got her start in the entertainment industry as an entrepreneur before stumbling upon her true calling, modeling. “I used to own one of the biggest mixtape websites,” Meena explained in a recent interview with 24HourHipHop.com. “Back then I was the only female doing something like that and it put my face out there. Once people started hearing about what I was doing, they featured me in magazines or on their mixtape covers.” During her time as an internet queenpin, Meena’s site MixFlavas.com was crowned Mixtape Website of the Year in both 2006 and 2007. The recognition soon opened doors for a bubbling modeling career. Meena’s exotic look was sought after for hundreds of mixtape covers and it wasn’t long before the media took an interest.
In 2008, the outgoing beauty was featured in Bachelor Magazine’s 20 Sexiest Women of the Year, Featured on Kanye West’s website in his blog, as well as King Magazine’s Web Girl of the Week and an appearance in 50 Cent’s “I’ll do anything” video, 50 Cents “Ok, You’re right”, Grafh’s “Call me up” Video, Trav’s “Ride the wave” video and The Dream ft. Rick Ross, Juelz Santana, Fabolous and Ludacris Rockin That Thing Remix” video. Also member of the CORE Models, Meena was a two-time invited guest to BET’s Rap City, once as a model for Three 6 Mafia’s segment, and again for an appearance with Chamillionaire. Though her looks may gain the initial attention, it’s Meena’s confident personality and intellect that keep people interested. Always her own boss, she started a successful Ebay business in high school prior to the mixtape website, and currently works in car sales.
A softball player since the age of 8, Meena’s competitive spirit earned her a full athletic scholarship to college. After winning countless sports awards, Meena obtained her Bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the New York Institute of Technology. Now that her professional goals have come full circle, Meena is focused on expanding her name. She hopes to become a valuable marketing tool for clothing lines and cosmetics companies, as well as explore her acting options. With a soon to be released calendar and an abundance of new opportunities, Meena’s timing seems to be just perfect.

Where were you born, and how was life growing up? I was born in Queens, NY. Life was good growing up. I was raised by loving parents and surrounded myself with good people so I had a pretty good childhood. Can’t complain.
What nationality are you? Pakistani
What would the average person say about you? They would say that I am one of the most different and unique person theyve ever met.
What kind of stuff did you get into after high school? I recieved a full athletic scholarship to college for softball, I was a pitcher so i did that till I graduated. Then i got into the mixtape scene and ran one of the biggest mixtapes sites before I ultimately got into modeling.
Do you have any secret weaknesses or guilty pleasures? Im a sucker for chocolate
Describe your most embarrassing moment. I tried to get on the pole at a strip club and totally busted my ass in front of everyone.
What has been your most memorable experience as a model? Flying to Beverly Hills and shooting for Show Magazine at a mansion. It was amazing!
What’s your biggest turn on? I love when my guy is able to show me affection in public
What’s one thing about yourself that everyone should know? Im super competitive. I have to be the best in everything I do, even at my day job selling cars. I gotta outsell the guys to feel complete..lol
Do you kiss on the first date? Only if he initiates it.
Do you consider yourself more of a “giver” or a “taker”? I’m a giver.
If you could have any car you wanted, what would it be? Lime green Lamborghini Murcialago
Do you have any hidden talents? I can do a donald duck impersonation.
What do you like best about being a model? I like being able to travel and get to put on different personalities with every shoot.
What would you consider your strongest attribute? I would have to say my ethnicity is one of my strongest attributes. Its rare that you see a model from my culture which is why i have so many peoples support.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and who would you take with you? I would go to Disney World (I’ve never been there) and I would take my son.
We know you’re a model and all, but you must have a favorite food. What is it? I love steak
Besides modeling, what do you do for fun? On the little free time i have I like to go to the local sports bar or sit at home and watch the big game of the night. Im a sports fanatic
What are your dreams and goals? Ive always wanted to own my own resteraunt or even open up a strip club/sports bar. I’m determined to accompolish that within the next 5 years
Would you prefer a guy to pursue you, or do you like to be the aggressor? I prefer being persued. I have never been the type to make the first move.
How did you get your start in modeling? I got into the whole modeling scene a few years back when I ran a very popular mixtape website. Djs started featuring my photos on thier mixtape covers as a start but recently within this past year my modeling took off because someone close to me pushed me to go for it 150%, so i did.
